The World Government Summit kicked off in Dubai, on Monday, under the slogan "Foreseeing Future
Governments".
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, and Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, witnessed the first day of the summit, according to the Emirates News Agency, WAM.
The Dubai Government Media Office stated on its official Twitter account that the global summit brings together 20 heads of state and government, more than 250 ministers, and 10,000 government officials, thought leaders and international experts.
The office added that the summit represents the largest gathering of its kind in the world with the participation of 150 countries, and its work will continue until February 15.
Summit topics
According to WAM, the summit anticipates a wide range of future opportunities, trends and challenges, and seeks to develop innovative solutions for them, through strategic plans that contribute to guiding policies and setting priorities optimally.
The summit, through more than 220 main, interactive and dialogue sessions, in which 300 international personalities, including presidents, ministers, experts, thinkers and future makers, will discuss the most important current and future global challenges.
It discusses the best ways to develop government and institutional performance, based on the latest developments and future trends, with the aim of helping humanity overcome the challenges and problems of reality and crossing into a better, more developed, prosperous and secure future in various sectors.
The World Government Summit 2023 will witness the organization of more than 22 international forums, which will discuss the most prominent future trends in the sectors most closely related to human life.
The sessions revolve around 6 main axes, including: the future of societies and health care, the governance of economic resilience and communication, education and jobs as priorities for governments, accelerating development and governance, exploring new horizons, and designing and sustaining global cities.
